‘The Crystal Building’ designed by Roger Hiorns in collaboration with Witherford Watson Mann Architects.

A conceptual collage describing a project in the rural village Neilong in Fujian Province China. The project is the restoration and preservation of Taoshu Tulou, a 300-400 year old rammed earth structure that encircles a central courtyard. The residential building accommodates up to 30 households.
The work was carried out for and on behalf of AzuKo, after a trip to China in November 2017 to research community lead design in rural and urban villages.
